托福口說Task 3範例 (一) 

托福口說第三大題是考生根據一段短文和一段簡短對話的內容來回答相關問題，內容和單字不會太難，大都是與校園相關，這類大題除了考驗考生單字聽力的狀況之外，其實也包含考生整理對話內容的筆記速度以及快速閱讀地抓住短文關鍵的能力，因為簡單更要專心聽，才能抓住所有的答案關鍵。

Reading Part:

Close the Coffeehouse

Like many people, I was happy when the university opened a coffeehouse. A good coffeehouse is a perfect place to meet people or to study while having a coffee. Unfortunately, our coffeehouse usually empty, so it is not a good place to meet people. And the lighting there is very poor, so it is not a good place to study, either. A coffeehouse seemed like a great idea, but it just has not worked out, and the time has come for the university to close it.

Woman  : I disagree with this idea.
Man : Why? It doesn't sound like it's doing very much business?
Woman: It's probably because it goes during the day but in the evening.
Man: Oh, people go.
Woman: A lot of people. Students are really busy during the day with classes, jobs, studying. Goodnight places are often preformed. Students get together there all the time.
Man : Really?
Woman: Yeah. It's not until night time students actually have a time to sit down and relax, you know, enjoy hot drink, getting something to eat or hanging out or reading for class.
Man : so you can't read there.
Woman: yeah, I mean it's right. That used to be a problem. But recently they did some renovations and now I think the lighting is as good as it is in the library.
Man : really?
Woman: yeah, and now just that there are few tables. Just divide every table's got good lightingnow.
Man : Sounds like this guy does nobody's talking about.
Woman : Definitely not.

University to Create come for a Lounge for Commuter Students

Many students at our university do not live in dormitories. These students live in town or in the suburbs and travel to campus every day. The university has decided to provide these commuter students with a special lounge the student center-with couches, chairs, and a television. University officials hope that this lounge-a place to socialize and relax will give commuter students some of the same advantages that dormitory residents now have. An important additional feature of the lounge will be a bulletin board on the wall for posting and sharing information that may be especially useful to commuer students and their particular needs.

Woman: Hey, it' s nice that they're gonna do this.

Man : It' s not a bad idea，but do you think they'll accomplish what they are hoping?

Woman : Sure. I mean the dormitories all have their own lounges. And think about how much time students spend there and how many people they meat.

Man : Yeah. I got to know a lot of people in my dorm during my first semester Just watching TV and taking study breaks in the lounge.
Woman : Right. Those dorm lounges are really essential to students' life. And I met peoplethere. They really helped me with my schoolwork too. Students who leave off campus don't haveanything like that.

Man: That's true.

Woman : Plus, I like the idea of posting stuff. You know, things like notices from students who wanna get together with other students to share car rides to campus.

Man: Yeah. Ride shares information could be helpful.

Woman : Absolutely. If students knew about ride shares, they could save money getting into campus, coz a few of them could travel in one car.
